A pesticidal composition having a prolonged active life and an enhanced stability, comprises a biodcidal organic phosphoric acid ester as active ingredient, finely dispersed silicic acid as vehicle, and a hydroxyquinoline as stabiliser. The active ingredient is preferably a compound of the formula: FORM:1059276/A5-A6/1 wherein R and R1 each represents a C1C5 alkyl radical, R11 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, V, X1 and Z each represents an oxygen or sulphur atom, and Hal represents a halogen atom, or an ester that can be derived from a compound of the above formula by saturating the double bonds with halogen atoms. The composition may additionally contain active carbon, an antioxidant, a wetting agent, an adhesive or a further pesticide. The compositions, in particular those which contain a homologue of dichlorovinyldimethyl phosphate, are also suitable for use as anthelmintics.
