[Also in Division E1 and F2] A device for joining recessed or hollow mitre-cut or square-cut sections 1, 2 comprises a right-angled corner piece 3 having two limbs insertable in the ends of the sections and a cylindrical member 5 for location in co-operating holes in each section and associated limb of the corner piece, each cylindrical member containing a screw 6 extending parallel to the cylinder axis and adapted, when advanced, to apply thrust to a displaceable member 8 which is arranged to convert the thrust of the screw into a lateral thrust on the associated limb of the corner piece to pull the sections together. The displaceable member 8 may be a triangular cross-section prism, a hemispherical member or a ball (Figs. 3 to 6, not shown).
