A fluid-pressure servomotor system comprises two levers 12, 13, means A, B or C, D for transmitting a force to each lever, a movable fulcrum 8, 9 for each lever, the fulcra being movable in unison, means for balancing the movements on the levers, a pilot valve 52 with pneumatic output signal, feedback of the output signal to at least two of the force transmitting means A, C, and means 65 to reduce the speed of response of the force transmitting means. The lever 12 carries an obturator 37 for a bellows-mounted nozzle 39 applying back pressure to the means A, C and to an air motor 6 for moving the fulcra 8, 9 while the lever 13 carries an obturator 38 for a nozzle 40 applying back pressure to the diaphragm 49 of the pilot valve 52. When a tube 62 in the pilot valve is moved upwardly it unseats as valve disc 59 to allow fluid from the supply to enter conduits 53, 54 leading to the means A, C while when the tube is moved downwardly the conduits are connected to an exhaust vent 51. If the balance of the beam 12 is disturbed, the obturator 37 causes a change in the back pressure from the nozzle 39 and adjustment of the fulcra 8, 9. This adjustment disturbs the balance of the beam 13 to vary the back pressure from nozzle 42 and cause the pilot valve to alter the pressure applied by the means A, C. The bellows mounting of the nozzle 39 enables the lever 12 to be kept stationary with respect to the supporting structure while the pilot valve ensures that the lever 13 is always in the same position when the system is in balance. The system may be used for extracting square roots and has an output line 67.
