A circuit is used for the emission of sound energy which covers a given broad sector. The sound energy is emitted from a flat base uniformly in a short transmission operation so that any loss of reflected parts of the sound energy by delayed reception is avoided. - The groups of acoustic oscillators are connected to the generator (81) via phase-delay networks (80). Every transit time of such a network which is allocated to each oscillator is calculated by dividing the radial distance between a conic section, drawn concentric to the vertical line of a sector and around the centre of the sector, and the base of the oscillator, on the one hand, through the velocity of propagation of the sound energy in the medium of the base, on the other hand. The time interval between transmission start and the change from transmission to reception has been reduced to a minimum, because the whole broad sector is now sounded uniformly and briefly.
