The connection sleeve on a T-branch for single-core cable, has the cable screens and/or the cable armouring conductively bridged by means of a metal shield or screen that embraces the inner space of the sleeve and which is electrically connected with the screens and/or armouring. The metal shield or screen is combined, with the cable shield or screens and/or the armouring at the ends facing the cables, into conductor wires that are electrically conductively connected together by a press-connector. The connection sleeves or T-branches are for cables designed for voltages in excess of 1kV and having polyethylene insulation.
