As the evaporation vapours are drawn out, the solids cannot pass through the vapours outlets, and they, with the monomers, pass through the gap between the opposing screws into the space between them and the base of the flash chamber. This allows the screws to remove the solids without blockage, giving a high concn. of recovered material.
