Novel cpds. of formula:- (where R1 = H, lower alkyl or alkoxy, or F, Cl or Br; R2 = H, lower alkyl or alkoxy, F, Cl, Br or CF3; R3 and R4 are chosen from the same gps. as R1; but R1, R2 and R3 are not all H) and their salts are prepd. by treating the corresp. amide or ester with NH2OH or its salts in basic medium.
