and H2-contg. waste gas from NH3-synthesis is mixed with a CH4-contg. H2-synthesis gas stream before entry in a liquid N2 washer, where CH4 is liquefied for subsequent gasification and introduction in a cracking plant to produce synthesis H2; the H2 in the waste gas is used for NH3 synthesis. Similarly constituted waste gas from oxidative methanol synthesis is processed in the same way for recovery and re-use of unreacted CH4 and H2.
