Regenerative coke oven - with preheated air slots in rich gas burner tubes preventing carbon deposits

A heating system for regenerative coke ovens uses in the heating flues, tubular rich gas burners which protrude well above the flue sole. Openings are provided in the burner tubes near the sole, of adequate size to draw in enough regeneratively preheated air to prevent the formation of carbon deposits.
