Pharmaceutical compsns contg PGE1, PGE2, PGE3, 13, 14-dihydro-PGE1 or 1-8C alkyl ester thereof, together with a pharmaceutical carrier, are useful for the treatment and prophylaxis of benign and malignant skin proliferation disorders characterised by accelerated cell division, e.g. psoriasis, dermatitis, skin acarcinoma, lamellar ichthyosis keratoses and acne in humans and actopic dermatitis and mange in animals. The compsns can be applied topically or by intralesinoal, intradermal or subcutaneous injection. They may also be applied systemically by i.m. injection or percutaneous absorption through healthy skin.
