A glass bead is provided over an end of a pair of inlead wires for a flash lamp. An opening is provided through the bead between and in communication with both inlead wires, and is filled with primer material. One of the inlead wires may extend through the bead and into contact with combustible material in the lamp. The underside of the bead may be sleeved or shaped to prevent shorting between the inlead wires.
