Rectangular carrier cardboard box for foodstuff - has integral lid lock and carrying handle and corner triangular locking lugs

A rectangular cardboard box for cakes or similar food stuff has a carrying handle (9) incorporated on the outside of its hinged cover (4). In order to lock the lid (4) firmly over the box body (1), two triangular lugs (14) on the two corners of the front side (3) are provided. Matching triangular slots (12) in the lid engage the lugs (14) when the lid is closed, thus locking it in that position. The box is opened by deflecting the inner front panel (3) through a slot (19) so that the corner lugs are retracted from the slots (12). The cut out area (10) around the handle is covered by a transparent foil which allows visual inspection of the content.
