A device for guiding and positioning the warp threads in a loom having a stepwise rotating reed comprising an assembly on a common shaft of thin discs with carrier lugs for beating up the weft, embodies two stationary combs aligned to the reed, the teeth of one of which, lie with their long axes in the planes of the reed discs, and are inclined tangentially to the circular path followed by the lugs, and towards the teeth of the second comb. The teeth of this comb slope radially towards the reed, and a pair of teeth enters the space between each pair of discs. The warp ends are thus positively guided so that their pitch cannot be altered and damage to the reed discs or to the threads is prevented.
