Cigarette mouthpiece lining paper has a base paper, an intermediate layer metallic outer layer printed to resemble cork and consists of a gold lacquer pigmented with gold-bronze. conventionally, the base paper is uncoloured, and the intermediate layer is a yellow printed colour layer which fully covers the surface. Extremely small amounts of iron oxide can be used for coloration. The lacquer containing bronze powder has a different structure from the lacquer coloured with Fe oxide and coconut meal, to give optical effects of real cork.
