Plant for reforming hydrocarbons under press. and esp. for synthesis gas recovery in NH3 prodn., in which steam reforming in reaction tubes and steam-air-reforming in catalyst layer can be combined. Dosage of N2 takes place from air rather than flue gases. Heat exchange chamber is separated from body by a double partition, the walls of which form a chamber for inlet of gaseous reagents and through which are led the ends of reaction tubes. Chamber for inlet of gaseous reagents is tightly sealed off from heat exchange chamber and is connected with body, by pref. allowing reaction tubes to go through wall, facing body, of double partition.
