X-ray apparatus with automatic displayed fault cut-out - switches generator tube off and leaves lights lit to show cause of the failure

A system for driving X-ray apparatus is used in which the generator tube is automatically switched off in the event of failures and the cause of the failure is indicated on lights remaining lit after the shut down. Two classes of fault are detected and displayed, namely those associated with high voltage failure at the generator tube, and the tube continuing to emit X-rays after the allowed period, indicated by the closure of a switch. In both cases the supply to the main tube transformer is interrupted by a multiple switch and a light is illuminated to indicate the class of fault. This is achieved by a high voltage detector and divider circuit in conjunction with a simple logic network.
