The noise suppressor for stereo FCC systems with stereo-mono switching filters out the differential components in the stereo signal, integrates them, and uses them to control cross-talk attenuation. these integrated signals are also limited and passed to a trigger which controls the stereo-mono indicator. The differential components are removed from the stereo decoder output via a differential amplifier, or a filter, or a matrix decoder. The cross-talk attenuation is controlled via a matrix between both audio channels behind the stereo decoder or, when used, via part of the matrix decoder.
