The cinematographic camera has a synchronisation pulse contact in the drive mechanism for generating a pulse train for synchronisation of a magnetic tape sound recorder, the pulse recurrence rate standing in a specific relationship to the frame frequency of the camera operation, with a switch bridging the trigger switch under the control of the pulse generator so as to operate periodically at the frequency of the synchronising pulse train in such a way that the end of the closing phase coincides approximately with the end of the synchronising pulse. This ensures that film sections taken at different times can be connected without losing continuity in synchronising between the different sections.
