Bobbins for automatic donning operations with magnetisable core - to allow handling by generated electric fields and reduce package damage

The Parent Patent described donning yarn packages on a winding/spinning device to ensure continuous operation. In the improvement the yarn packages are formed on bobbins having a core of magnetisable material extending over a part of its length, whereby the bobbins can be transported, handled etc. by devices generating an electric field. Mechanical handling of the bobbins is reduced thereby reducing the likelihood of damaging the yarn packages formed on the bobbins. The bobbin may comprise a soft iron tube or coil coated with plastic material.
