The fixing system consists of fixing pieces (1) which can be used for securing profiled rods in three directions, at right angles to each other, to form box structures. The profiled rods have a groove for sliding purposes, along their length. This groove also forms a seating for a securing screw (17) which is at 45 deg. to two faces (2, 3) of the fixing piece, which are at 90 deg. The rods are a sliding fit in the inside of the fixing piece and are of square section, with one corner chamfered off, the angle of chamfer preferably being such that the chamfer face is at 135 deg. to the two adjacent faces.
