1463845 Thermoplastic adhesives used in screen-printing of textiles BASF AG 29 May 1974 [30 May 1973] 23703/74 Heading C3P In the screen-printing of textile materials the adhesive used for bonding the material to a printer's blanket support is a thermoplastic adhesive comprising a mixture of (A) at least one polymer of (a) one or more olefinically unsaturated C 4 -C 16 carboxylate esters and (b) 0-20% by weight of the polymer of one or more olefinically unsaturated comonomers, the polymer(s) having a K value of 20 to 120, and (B) 0À5-10% by weight, based on polymer(s) A, of at least one oligomeric or polymeric organosilicon and/or organo-oxysilicon compound. Component (a) of the polymer A is suitably selected from alkyl acrylates and methacrylates and vinyl esters of alkanoic acids. Component (b) may be, for example, styrene or acrylic acid. For application to the printer's blanket, the adhesive may be applied as a solution in a solvent such as ethyl acetate, methyl ethyl ketone, toluene or n-butyl acetate, as a dispersion in an organic liquid such as petrol, or without a solvent at elevated temperature.
