Change of fluid temperature with respect to a reference temperature is measured by a single measuring element. Short term fluid temperature changes are measured. A thermocouple or a semiconductor is mounted in a fluid pipe and connected to a voltage amplifier. In order to amplify temperature changes, a choke is provided, followed by a thermocouple or a semiconductor. Another possibility, in a closed water circuit adjacent to an oil interface in contact with the measuring element is to determine the oil content as a result of the different viscosities which exist for the oil and the water.
