Yarn dyeing process - uses heated water passing through a mixing zone before entering dyeing vessel to gove rapid process action

A process and appts. are claimed for dyeing yarns, where the wound yarn packages are placed in a vessel for the dyestuff and other agents to be circulated through the charge. As the water is heated above the dyeing temp. in passing to the dyeing vessel, the fluid flow passes through a mixing zone where the dye is added to a constant mixing ratio. The dye is evenly distributed through the heated water with the dyeing auxiliary already mixed for the vessel to be filled rapidly. The process allows rapid dyeing of yarns, partic. of polyester where the dyeing temp. is 130 degrees C, with a controlled yarn absorbtion phase at the beginning of the dyeing process, eliminating the need for careful heating of the treatment bath with an exact temp. curve.
