摘要
An apparatus for measuring the relative concentration of carbon dioxide in two flames, using an ionization measurement technique, is presented. It consists basically of a metallic block (1) containing two parallel cylindrical chambers (2, 3) in each of which a flame is sustained. Each flame is fed from its own full inlet, and air inlet (9, 10) and has its own exhaust outlet and ignition facility. A common electrode (19) is mounted between the chambers and a separate electrode is provided in each chamber (20, 21). Three separate electrodes are of cylindrical shape with axes coincident with the appropriate flame. The electrodes are coated with a suitable insulating layer, typically of polytetra fluorethylene. The signals to and from the three electrodes are taken via terminals (27, 28) from the outside of the apparatus.
