A vehicle wheel with a tyre having beads reinforced by high tensile inlays, fitted on to its one-piece rim, in which there is a deep bed formed by an open circumferential groove, has one bead in the deep bed of the wheel rim, some distance from its bottom, whilst the neighbouring zone of the tyre side wall rests on the cylindrical surface of the edge section tapering outwards and slightly upwards from the circular groove. Large tyres can be fitted to rims without difficulty and without special tools. The rim contour is easily produced, and no other components such as clamping rings etc. are required.
