Chronologically disposed frame mounting and panel assembly mechanisms are arranged to retract into a position parallel to the through line, but displaced to one side so as to leave it free for further advancing of workpieces. Mounting of the frames is carried out at the onset, of the production process and reciprocating retraction mechanisms permit travelling glass sheets or single or multiple panel groups to be withdrawn from the through line for incorporation in the product. The mounting station (9) retraction mechanism (19) presents a chassis (20) with entrainment (22) which, at the onset, penetrates between horizontal (4) and vertical (3) support rollers of the through line.
