The stock control machine has an indicating panel with parallel vertical indicators, for stocks of different goods, which are moved up and down in dependence on the level of stock in hand, so that the stocks of the different goods can be seen at a glance. Each indicator is in the form of a cursor (B), which moves along two parallel threaded bars (C, C1) of the same diameter, and which is held in position by two spring blades (D), engaging the respective threaded bars (C, C1) at an angle of 45 degrees. The cursor (B) is moved by the movement of one of the threaded bars (C, C1), via a selection cylinder, which is itself moved in response to rotation of a manual setting knob.
