Packing case for very heavy loads - has wood frame with panel infill and metal fittings at joints of frame

The case (1) is used for large capacity and/or heavy loads and comprises a wooden frame, reinforced with metal fittings and infilled with plywood panels. The bottom is planking on a trussed frame and is raised on runners. Sides and ends have corner uprights and stringers with spacers and braces, joints being strengthened by metal plates. The top has battens along its undersurface, providing strength when stacking. Screw nails, or similar, fix the panels and metal plates, the latter also being used to construct the case and hold the separate sections together.
