1415925 Component assemblies LA TELEMECANIQUE ELECTRIQUE 4 April 1973 [4 April 1972] 16190/73 Heading H1R [Also in Division H2] An interconnecting and power supply system for logic blocks incorporates strip power busbars 17, 18, 19 retained by insulant block 20 interposed between walls of a U-shaped metal rail 21 internally ribbed at 22; the outer surface comprising ribs 23, 34 thereon. Logic blocks are arranged on a printed circuit board 25 in an insulant casing 24 and the end 26 of the board has conductor strips for supply read in and read out from other component units. A casing 1 of socket member 36 retains conductors 11, 14 and comprises elastic hooks 8 engaging ribs 23 of rail 21 when the latter is facedly placed on the socket, and the casing 1 is attached to the body 2 of the socket by deformable lugs 3. Internal spaces 4, 5 accommodate the interconnecting conductors of which 14 have end prongs 15, 16 respectively engaging bus-bar 17 while the prongs 16 are aligned with a cavity 7 accommodating a housed logic block. Rims 10 of the cavity 7 are gripped by hooks 27 of the logic block casing 24 and the end 26 of the board 25 engages slot 35 of the wall of cavity 7 so that the conductor stops are gripped by prongs 16. Similarly conductors 11 are held between casing 1 and body 2 and each presents in slot 35 elastic prong 12 at one end, and at the other a pair of flat tags 13 in opening 6 adjacent cavity 7. Plural U-shaped rails 21 may be placed in parallel along the back wall of a cabinet with corresponding socket members 36 coacting therewith; the sockets being wider than the rails so as to leave channel 32 therebetween, closed by cover 30 engaging ribs 34 and accessible through opening 32 to accommodate wiring leads from pins 13. Relay supports or terminal blocks or voltage connectors may also be fitted to rails 21, and the latter may be closed by blanking plates when no componentry is fitted. In a modification (Figs. 2, 3, not shown) interlogic coupling may be achieved by interconnected optical conduits and in a further modification (Fig. 4, not shown) pneumatic logic may be intercoupled by fluid channels conveying the working medium; valves or plugs being provided for closure of disengaged channels to prevent leakage.
