The signalling arrangement is based on a central control, trackside signals and electric repeaters in each locomotive. Approach to a station (B) is controlled by stop signals (1), (2), (3) and clearance signals (4) which also serve to indicate maximum permissable speeds at each stage of the approach track. Trains leaving the station area are given speed restriction information by means of another signal (FS). Once clear of this zone, the speed is maintained constant over the controlled section (S), (FF). When a train leaves the station, a command signal is passed to all sections of the controlled track and the allowable speed of approaching trains is automatically reduced. When a train leaves the controlled area, all warning signals in the high speed approach direction (HF) revert to normal.
