The loudspeaker box avoids the detrimental effects on sound quality of rectangular boxes (due to internal reflections) as well as their uguly appearance by inclining the front face of the box at an angle of 5 deg. to 15 deg. to the Vertical. The bass and treble speakers are set into this front face. The ratio of front face height to width is roughly equal to the golden number, and the ratio of the depth of the top to that of the base lies between 1:1.3 and 1:1.75. The optimum listening region is 110 to 120 cm high at a distance of 350 to 450 cm in front of the box. The bass loudspeaker (3) is mounted below the treble speaker (2).
