Radio controlled model parachutist - controls parachute opening and fall by radio receiver in models upper body

The radio controlled model parachutist is made of wood and has a radio receiver installed in the upper body of the model. Control is achieved by two steering mechanisms. On the pivoting control lever of one mechanism is a steel rod (2) which project out of the models shoulder. On this rod is a perlon strap which spans the outside of the parachute pack to a locking rod at the models rear. Rubber bands span from this locking rod to the models feet to hold the model in a stable aerodynamic position for free fall. The steel rod (2) is drawn into the shoulder by radio control freeing the person strap and thus allowing the parachute to open. The fall of the model is then controlled by moving the arms which are connected by rods (3, 4) to the control levers on the steering mechanism.
