Developing appts. for photographic papers and films comprises a curved outer trough (1) for developer liq. and a drive mechanism for relative movement between the liq. and the papers and films. Removably mounted in the outer trough is a curved inner trough (2) with a gap (3) between them for receiving the photographic material (4). The two troughs are pivoted together about at least one axis, pref. a horizontal longitudinal axis, and an optional horizontal transverse axis. At the adjoing edges of the two troughs may be a light-resistant, liquid-permeable labyrinth seal. In the gap between the two troughs may be arranged rubber-like clamping supports (5) for the photographic material attached to one of the two troughs.
