Air injector for automobile engine exhaust afterburner - has secondary injector at end of tube through combustion chamber

The engine exhaust (1) is surrounded by an inlet (2), radial tubes (4) from this lead to a preheating chamber (3) in the centre of the exhaust from which openings (5) admit air into the combustion chamber (9). A tube (6) running from the preheating chamber (3) through the combustion chamber takes some of the air into a second preheating chamber (8) which is within the combustion chamber. Openings (16) in the end of this preheating chamber let the air out directly into the combustion chamber.
