Brussels sprout stripping machine - forms soft resilient nip between drum and pressure members spaced alternately with stripping rollers

Brussel sprouts are stripped from their stems by a machine which has a movable surface of soft resilient material forming a nip with a series of spaced pressure members which are similarly surfaced, so that the sprout plants are rotated about their axes in passage through the nip. Resilient stripping members are positioned in the alternate spaces between the pressure members and engage the sprouts as the plants pass through. The pressure members are yieldably loaded e.g. by springs. Automatic stripping is performed efficiently without damage to the sprouts.
