Chin support for violin - has sets of ratchet teeth cut guide rods on support and violin body plate

A clamp enables a chin rest for violin type instruments to be attached. It has a pair of guide rods (2) which can be reserved into the chin rest (1) itself. The guide rods (2) are hollow in construction and each is provided with a ratchet type tooth (3). A counter piece (4) with two guide rods (5) is mounted on the violin. The guide rods (5) also have a series of ratchet grooves cut in to them. These engage with the ratchet teeth (3) of the hollow guides (2) attached to the chin support (1) for adjusting to the requirements of the player.
