摘要
The fuel economy device for fitting to carburettors on I.C. engines consists of a tubular opening forming a T junction in the inlet manifold At the extreme end of the tube (5) which is the same diameter as the manifold (6) there is a butterfly valve (4). The butterfly valve is operated by a shaft connected to a solenoid (3) which is powered by the battery (2) and controlled by a switch on the accelerator pedal (1). When the engine is required to accelerate the car and the pedal is depressed, the valve (4) remains closed, on slowing down, when the pedal is released, the valve opens allowing supplementary air into the engine, bypassing the carburettor thus saving fuel and producing less exhaust pollution.
