Automatic ultrasonic soldering of aluminium parts - in bath contg. profiled tool for efficient propagation of ultrasonic energy

Device for the ultrasonic soldering of aluminium workpieces, where the solder bath contains a special tool designed for the reflection and refraction of ultrasonic waves, and mounted above a compression chamber which performs several functions. The combination produces an appts. which is simple, robust, and efficient. The tool is pref. a round disc with a conical recess on its upper surface, the disc and the solder bath being located above a speed transformer, and the bottom end of the transformer is immersed in an oil bath in the compression chamber. The oil bath contains the upper part of a piezoelectric transducer, and is surrounded by cooling fins. Two Al parts can be soldered together without using chemical or mechanical means for the prior removal of Al2O3 from the surface of the parts.
