1485644 Feeding bale pluckers TOYODA JIDOSHOKKI SEISAKUSHO KK 3 Sept 1974 [10 Sept 1973] 38381/74 Heading DiN In a bale plucking operation a bale P is reciprocated over a plucker 5 by conveyers 1 and 2 and when the bale has been reduced to a predetermined thickness it is displaced to a waiting position P' and a fresh bale F is supplied such that when the leading end of bale F overlaps original bale P' they are both forwarded to plucking position and henceforth reciprocated together. Detectors 14, 15 reverse conveyers 1 and 2 at the limits of the bales reciprocation and when the bale moves to the waiting position a limit switch 17 stops its movement and initiates the forwarding of fresh bale F on auxiliary conveyor 9 which is disposed above the level of the reciprocating conveyers 1 and 2, a detector 18 restarts the conveyers 1 and 2 when bale F reaches the front of bale P' and a detector 19 stops the auxiliary conveyer 9 when the trailing end of bale F passes it. Detectors 14, 15 and 18 are photoelectric devices and the detector 15 is placed at a height l above con veyer 1 to allow the bale P to pass to the waiting position P' when its thickness is less than l. At the waiting position the bale is arrested by a resilient stop whose detailed construction is indicated in Fig. 3, (not shown) and which incorporates the limit switch 17. The detailed construction of the feeler arrangement of detecter 19 is also indicated Fig. 6, (not shown). The operating circuit is described with reference to Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown).
