The parallel blades are arranged so as to provide a zigzag air path which tends to prevent the passage of sand etc. The frame is formed from two parts which have Z sections, outer flanges of the Z's being bolted together and embedded in sealing strips engaging the edge of a hole through the vehicle bodywork. The strips have slots which receive the ends of the blades which have V sections, two rows of blades having opposed and offset wings which define the zig-zag paths. The strips have holes which align with holes through the frame to receive clamping bolts.
