Holder for components of wide dimensional tolerance - four-point fitting defines a fixed reference point unaffected by tolerance variations

A joint holder for a pair of components of large manufacturing tolerances, or of widely differing thermal expansion coefficient, offering a fixed point of reference for association with other adjacent components. The components are joined at four points forming two opposite pairs, and the point of intersection of the lines joining the two pairs defines the fixed reference point. The arrangement is applicable to a metal plate fitting into a plastic case in which the metal plate is provided with cut-outs fitting into lugs in the case, or lugs on the metalwork fitting into cut-outs in the case to define the four points of support.
