Continuous grain drying device - arranged in countercurrent of air in round silo

Grain is continuously dried in a silo with a round wall and perforated base spaced above which is a horizontal air pipe arrangement forming upper and lower chambers for introducing and drying grain respectively, the grain entering the lower chamber through radial spaced passages in the pipe assembly. Hot air is passed upwards through the lower surfaces of the radial pipe sections, and then out into the atmosphere. A uniform layer of dried grain is continuously removed from the silo, and an equal quantity of moist grain is introduced in the downward discretion, the quantity being such that air entering the pipes is almost or completely saturated.
