Heat supply system with solar collector and heat pump - uses petrol engine to drive heat pump and compressor

In the heat supply system, the heat pump compressor is to be driven by a petrol engine (this offers greater fuel efficiency than electricity when the engine's waste heat is recovered within the installation). The compressor piston is to be connected directly to the petrol engine's connecting rod. The heat source for the heat pump is pref. the water which a solar energy collector has warmed. Two water tanks are required, one for the solar energy absorbed, the other for the heat pump.
