Elastic fabric knitted from synthetic yarns has one side associated with cotton yarns which are worked into the backing. Pref. the cotton or cotton mixt. yarns cover the whole side of the fabric, the pref. side being the right one. The yarns are pref. knitted in loop form. The backing, which can be knitted in a satinette or tuele binding may be composed of polyamide yarns and upright yarns of a polyurethane elastomer (Elasthane (RTM)). The cotton or cotton mixt. yarns fraction may corresp. to =15% wt. Fabric is air permeable, moisture absorbent has a pleasant feel, and is suitable for clothing.
