A pressure plate is for film cassettes, esp. Super 8, in which film guide rails are used. The pressure plate is spring-loaded and presses the film into the focal plane. No modification of the camera is required. The pressure plate is smaller than the exposure opening in the cassette. A leaf spring is connected to the body of the cassette at one end and the pressure plate is connected at the other. This arrangement keeps the film flat in the image plane without affecting the ease of film insertion or exerting too great a friction as the film is transported.
