Submarine desalination intensification - by forced water flow removing concentration polarisation

The concentration polarisation during a submarine seawater desalination process based on reverse osmosis is remedied by creating a relative velocity between the semi-permeable membranes and the surrounding seawater. Alternatively any already existing relative velocity between them is increased. Lower concn. polarisation results in lower energy consumption for the material sepn. and to lower concn. of the dissolved substance in the permeate.
