摘要
A copolyester, contg. carboxylate and carbonate gps., is prepd. by reacting (a) a carbonyl halide with (b) a difunctional carboxylic acid, and (c) molar excess, w.R.T. (b) of a dihydroxy cpd. Reaction is in a medium contg. water and a water-immiscible solvent, in presence of a tert. amine and an inorganic base. The interfacial process yields a prod. which is less coloured than with known processes, and which only catalytic amts. of amine are needed. By-prods. remain in soln. and are easily sepd.. Use of an inorganic base lowers the cost. The prods. include new branched polyester-carbonates contg. a branching agent with is not 3 ester-forming gps.; these can be used for profile extrusion and blow-moulding. The claimed carbonyl halide is COCl2; claimed acids are adipic, iso- and tere-phthalic, azelaic and sebacic acidS. The molar ratio fo (b):(c) is 1:1.01-20. The dihydroxy cpds. include a diphenol, (cyclo)aliphatic or aromatic glycol, polyalkylene glycol, ester of a glycol and a dibasic acid, silane diol, tert. amino-glycol, or OH-terminated polymer.
