Compensation for wow and flutter on FM recordings - involves arrangement of filters and operational amplifiers

The apparatus is applicable to many different media and the compensating network modifies the information read from the recording. This is of a frequency modulated form and the compensating network operates to equalize the sidebands and so to remove the effects of wow and flutter. The network consists of an amplifier, a high pass filter and a modulator. An output is produced from this and fed to a low pass filter, the output of which is modulated by the original tape output filtered at any low frequencies (up to 100 Hz). The output of this is modulated once more and transduced to the form required to give the compensation needed.
