Gear linkage for tipping cab - has telescopic gear change shafts and coupling lever to release linkage

The gear linkage between the cab gear selector lever (6) and the gear box is by means of a hollow shaft (8) which is guided on a coaxial support shaft (9) whose front end is secured to the floor of the cab (1) by a ball joint (10). The gear change movements are transmitted from the gear lever to the shaft by a link (16) which engages the outer shaft using a drive peg (15) linked to the shaft by a coupling plate (11). The front of the link is hinged on the fixed shaft support so that when the cab is tipped the coupling link, and coupling plate are tipped away from the outer shaft. As the cab is dropped again the sloping edges of the coupling plate engage the outer shaft and relocate the gear selector lever in the set gear position.
