Dental prosthesis snap action tooth attachment - has cup shaped tooth insert fitting over spherical head on root screw

The dental prosthesis fastening arrangement has a tooth (11) with a recess inside into which is fitted a cup shaped element (14). Into the root portion (12) is inserted an externally threaded screw (13) with a flange around it, at the top of the threaded part. This rests on a plate (15) on top of the root. Above the flange, the screw has a spherical head with a slotted skirt around it, leaving a part of the smooth spherical surface projecting above, to rest against the inside of the cup (14), forming a ball joint. The cup is grooved, to fit over the spherical head with a snap action. The moulding method for the prosthesis is described.
